A very scarce example of the second With Arrows type, one I seldom see even on the West Coast. A low mintage and low survival means not too many coins to choose from. At the time, the few collectors were concentrated on the East Coast and collecting by Mintmark was of little or no concern. Only 119 circulated coins certified at PCGS, 49 at NGC, with 80 coins better than this at both services combined. BU coins are serious rarities. This has attractive light reddish-gray colored surfaces, with some very old light hairlines typical of coins saved randomly. A bit of a “thin market” coin as are all Seated Quarters, but one that certainly seems a bit undervalued compared to how many I see.
