1810 Capped Bust Half Dollar, Very Fine+, Interesting Die Cracks

$289.00

O-101a, Very Fine+.  Late die state with extensive die cracks that would shortly condemn the die.  This variety is well know for poor strikes and is commonly somewhat "net" graded as such.  However this example shows a relatively well balanced strike other than at the base of Liberty's bust, and some traces of remaining luster around the rims.  This example matches coins certified as VF-25 and would have a shot at VF-30, other than the typical ancient cleaning. However no readily visible hairlines, and the color has largely "healed" now. Good eye appeal for the grade and surface state. PCGS value $350 or better if it passes muster. My opinion is probably not, but still worthy as a sound early date Half.
