An attractively toned, original Choice Uncirculated specimen of the first “Bison on Plain” Nickel as it is sometimes called. The change to placing “Five Cents” in a hollow below the Bison came about due to issues with poor strikes and wear problems on the original design. An overall light green-gray color, with subtle brighter greens and reds around the rims, sure signs of many years spent in a coin album.
