Official Medal from the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Shevlin SH 18-1, Swoger 21c-b, "Bright Bronze". An original Choice Uncirculated piece certified NGC MS-64, with the original U. S. Mint envelope these were sold in. This shows the effect of being stored in paper for a near Century, with some streaky darker Bronze-colored toning on the Obverse, the same color heavier on the Reverse. Struck on the Exposition grounds, a better strike than many although not quite full. The color & surfaces are similar to the NGC MS-65 piece I sold not too long ago (now in our Archive), the grade accounted for by a couple of relatively minor scuffs. As I noted in the other listing, the envelope is scarcer than the medal it contained! Valued at $225 in MS-63, $425 in MS-65 in Shevlin’s price guide.
