HK-344, 1907 Jamestown Tercentennial Official Medal, NGC MS-66, TOP POP, Color
Official Medal of the 1907 Jamestown Tercentennial Celebration held in Norfolk, VA. Swoger-18a, dies by George Morgan and Charles Barber, struck in Silver by the U. S. Mint. Certified NGC MS-66, tied with six other examples as the Top Pop. An unquestionable Gem BU with original surfaces, toned a silvery-gray with very light yellow-greenish undertones, a mix of other darker colors around the rims. Most of the toned pieces I reviewed seem to share a similar range of toning. The light toning does not hide the booming luster on the piece however. Difficult to price as there have been no trades in this grade I could trace. Two MS-65's sold at $480 (2018) and $633 (2012), a somewhat wide disparity and not all that recent. So my asking price represents a "suggestion"; those who strongly disagree are free to send me a message with a counteroffer. I think my number is reasonable considering the quality, and as a well known specialist in the series recently priced an MS-64 at about $500.
