1892 Barber Quarter, Original Uncirculated Coin
Type Two Reverse Hub. Repatriated out of a non-numismatic European accumulation, obviously saved as a souvenir. This is what a 100% original coin looks like, which is why you don't see many of them. Virtually all U. S. collectors in the 1940's-50's could not stand to NOT clean a coin like this. This was unfortunately repeated in the 1970's by dealers during the first "investment" boom, when stark "white" coins were the rage (and usually always sold as "Gem BU"). Full luster interrupted only by a few light contact hairlines and wormy marks here and there; equivalent to what you will normally see in a certified MS-62 holder, after being "conserved". I see no point in certification as I think this belongs in an album, perfect to represent the Type.
