The classic “super slider”, that saw perhaps a couple of weeks of circulation before being put aside as an example of the new coin design - in other words what is typically processed and sold to the unwary as a bargain priced “Unc”. A couple of minor marks behind Liberty and some light, scuffy “hairlines”, which I believe are due to actual circulation. The color is natural and almost all of the luster survives. This would not only undoubtedly certify AU-58 at PCGS or NGC, but I believe it would CAC as well. Priced accordingly - early Walkers are red hot right now. Not much spread between AU-58 and MS-61 for this date, as a reasonable number were put aside in 1916, most however not as attractive as this coin.
