A famously low mintage New Orleans Mint date. Bowers suggests that almost all were paid out for trade on the Mississippi River corridor, and it has also been suggested that a large number were melted for export. I would suggest lightly cleaned at some point in the past, as many if not most have been. However the present color is decent now, and it certainly did not bother PCGS. The coin is actually a bit darker than my images make it appear, and it retains some signs of luster around the rims in protected areas. No other significant problems to note, and certainly still a worthy coin for a mid-grade set of the series. Tough to find when you need one.
