1834 Coronet Cent, Large 8 & Stars, Large Letters Reverse, N-6, Scarce
Large 8 and Stars, Large Letters Reverse. N-6, the characteristic circular Obverse die crack being evident despite moderate wear. Reasonably scarce, with a survival estimate between 200 (PCGS) and 500 or less (Redbook). Very Fine, with decent although not perfect surfaces, a few light rim bruises (one noticeable at 9:00 of the Obverse). Strongly rotated Reverse, West maybe 30 degrees. Not too far below the PCGS Condition Census bottom range, which is shown as VF Thirty-five, despite no PCGS certified coins in that grade (none below Forty-five apparently); 5 in VF at NGC. A bit tougher to price; an AG-G recently sold on ebay at $96, and a VG-ish coin is currently being offered at around $150. This obviously worth more, so I will throw a number out there based upon the NGC estimate for a VF coin (PCGS does not offer an opinion). Viewers are always free to make a reasonable offer based upon their own opinion, if they object too strenuously - I can always go down but I can't go up.
