1824 Coronet Head Large Cent, Almost Uncirculated, PCGS AU-50
A decent brown AU example. The main multiple individual coin images were taken prior to submission to PCGS, as I sometimes have trouble getting good pix of Copper inside a slab. The small brighter areas atop two of the Obverse stars are where small clumps of "grunge" material on the coin covered those areas and prevented toning over the years. I removed these prior to submission, using a coin-safe material (obviously PCGS had no problem with it). Those and the light stain on the second star left of the date are the only real Obverse distractions. Some minor Reverse marks, the most obvious at the second "A" of "AMERICA", however no significant defects and otherwise without the normal digs, dents, old corrosion, pits, planchet problems, etc. commonly found on these. I think a reasonably attractive coin despite the extremely minor issues, with original even brown surfaces and obvious luster around the rims. Certainly still suitable as a high grade type example.
