1929-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, Choice Almost Uncirculated
Details of an AU/Unc, basically equivalent to what I expect to see in an AU-58 holder normally. Typical light old cleaning, in this case I believe this was only dipped to remove toning. Nearly full luster, no heavy marks from circulation and no noticeable hairlines from a cleaning. The surfaces may be a little harder to read for some people as this coin displays obvious die polish lines in spots, typical of the Mint trying to maintain production during the Depression. The last enlarged image shows one of the more obvious groups of these lines, right below IGWT, however they are also visible in the other Obverse images. Given the way earlier and Key Dates in this series are graded by the services, this might well certify in a non-details holder if submitted, with some luck involved. However I have not tried yet, preferring to offer it in it's raw state. I think most people would be perfectly happy with this as a high grade circulated example of this Semi Key date, and I will note that many if not most commercial dealers would not bother to mention the cleaning/dipping. This is priced based upon market reality that I can likely sell it to one of these less picky dealer as a "slider", and takes into account my ridiculous ebay fees. As always, the coin is guaranteed genuine, in perpetuity, backed by our firm's 80+ years in the business, and all the industry "garden salad" (PCGS/NGC/CAC,ANA, etc., etc.).
