1916-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar, FS-501, D over D, RPM, Uncirculated, PCGS Cert
Repunched Mintmark (RPM), D over D, FS-501, Fox V-101. Nice clear repunching so this appears to be an earlier die state. Uncirculated, certified PCGS Details for relatively minor hairlines from the common light cleaning of the Obverse only. Typical of coins that came out of a Whitman or Oberwise "coin board", whose owners commonly dusted them off using a cloth. My estimate of an approximate technical grade level is MS-61 based upon how early Walkers are typically graded. I will note that almost all early Walkers certified at MS-60 to 62 have "hairlines", whether from a light cleaning or mishandling, so this is not too far from "normal" for this coin. Establishing value for a Details coin is difficult, so my price is based simply upon my cost - price is equivalent to what a theoretical MS-60 coin should be worth, since Zero actually certified at PCGS or NGC (NGC shows one MS-61, which I guarantee has hairlines …).
