Well struck for a notoriously poor quality date, along with the 1925-S considered by David Lange to be the two worst overall in the series. A brighter orange-red than it appears in my images due to the lighting used, basically a slightly faded "Red" on the Obverse, the Reverse darker as it came out of an old album. There is a considerable discrepancy in values shown between the current (March 2021) “CPG Non CAC Retail” price of $260, and the PCGS Retail value of $325. A number of knowledgeable dealers who specialize in the series are in fact pricing their coins at higher levels, in some cases significantly ABOVE PCGS Retail! Some of this is may be a CAC vs. Non-CAC factor, however some may also be based upon a knowledge of the strike characteristics of the date, and well struck pieces command a higher value.
