A rare original, problem free example, with medium mahogany colored surfaces (not quite as "red" as my images came out), just a trace of woodgrain toning. If you know anything about the series, one of the toughest coins to find in Choice AU without "issues". Oddly enough, in my experience most high grade survivors tend to be repunched dates for some reason, which this is not. Very scarce with CAC approval in the grade: 103 at PCGS, 72 at NGC, neither number a lot considering they have been grading for 35+ years; only 12 at CAC. Certainly worth a premium for the specialist in the series - A recent major auction result at over $1,000, and that was for a NON-CAC coin.
