An original example of this better date, just a hint of wear away from being Uncirculated. It probably never actually served in circulation, but received what wear is present from being impounded in a mixed lot of coinage put away right after the Civil War by a member of the general public. Light ocher colored surfaces showing a bit of “woodgrain” toning, which does not seem objectionable, with bright obvious luster remaining. Equivalent to a PCGS-certified AU-58 coin I recently sold.
