1927-S Buffalo Nickel, Semi Key Date, PCGS/CAC AU-55, Tough
1927-S Buffalo Nickel, Semi Key Date, PCGS/CAC AU-55, Tough
A solid example of this much better date, which is typically found abused to try to "stretch" the grade due to the rarity of true Uncirculated coins. 102 at PCGS, 61 NGC versus only 12 at CAC when listed, which does not seem like a lot of coins either way. None in the new CACG holder; per their policy this is guaranteed to cross at the same grade if submitted. Seems reasonably well struck overall, with a very sharp Reverse - the Obverse has a sense of missing just a bit of fine detail, likely to the common die polishing this date suffered due to die clashes. Original grey-brown surfaces with a touch of reddish highlights, a nice amount of luster is obviously present. Individual coin images by PCGS; I may add some more of my own later.
