An original Proof example, and for some reason one of the most difficult coins I have tried to get good images of in quite some time. It shows some of the minor issues associated with Proof coins in this period. There are some tiny “flecks” scattered over the surface, effectively minor carbon spotting from improper storage at some point, as well as some signs of old finger contact from mishandling. Most of all of this could be removed by professional conservation, however given the fact that it is not a coin that would likely certify PR-66, not worth spending the money (for me). On the whole, a bright flashy coin that is quite attractive allowing for the very minor defects, most of which look worse in my images than on the coin in person; this is the nature of imaging coins like this with bright, artificial light. Out of an old Idaho collection, this would make an interesting alternative for a Type set. Due to the difficulty in imaging, I left a number of pre-PCGS images posted.
