An original AU/Unc "slider", which spent maybe all of a week or two in circulation - the only hint of actual wear is a sign of rub on the point of Liberty's cheek.  The strike is a bit soft in spots due to die wear, with a heavy die crack along the Obverse rim area from 1:00 to 4:00, indicating extensive use in the last year of the Civil War.  Attractive medium golden-brown surfaces without any "woodgrain" toning, nice even color and some remaining hints of original planchet color hidden in protected areas on both sides - should easy CAC if submitted.  Luster is plainly evident and outside of this holder I am sure that this would be sold as "Choice Unc" by most dealers.
