A very original example of this Key Date issue, which saw minimal circulation. Light “splashy” russet-orange toning, which is unusual as almost all coins that look like this get dipped to try to make them look like an “Unc”. So also this is commonly done due to the fact that many collectors seem to be paranoid about toning, assuming that it hides some “warts”. Not the case here as all that lies beneath are the typical light, random scuffs and scratches of a coin that saw circulation for perhaps a couple of weeks. 98-99% of the original luster remains. I like original coins like this, so left it alone - what a new owner chooses to do is up to them. I will in this case not only guarantee that this is genuine, but also that if submitted to PCGS or NGC will certify AU-58, or your money back including grading fees. Just not worth my time to submit it as PCGS is currently taking (January, 2022) up to THREE months to grade coins - NGC is worse as they are taking TWO months just to open the package!
