A nice Choice AU example of this Civil War Era date. Considered common in relative terms, as with the start of the “Late Unpleasantness” many 1860-62 dated coins were hoarded due to economic concerns, and many more were saved after the fact as a souvenir of the War. Oddly enough for a “common” date however, not all that many at PCGS. Only about 200 coins in this grade and better, including all the BU grades!
