A nice original example of the last U. S. Half Cent, struck in relatively small numbers but hoarded to an extent by the general public as an example of the vanishing breed - much as they hoarded the replacement for the U. S. Large Cent terminated the same year (the 1857 Flying Eagle Cent). Nice dark chocolate Brown surfaces with some hints of purple and blue toning, no heavy marks just some loss of luster in the fields and gentle “bruising”.
