Honoring the efforts of the Board of Lady Managers at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, this was the second U. S. Commemorative coin struck, and the only such issue in the Quarter denomination until the 1932 Washington Quarter (originally meant to be a one year only issue). Typically found harshly mistreated, this is a lustrous Choice AU example with some light attractive toning highlights. Not “perfect” as there are some light scuffs here and there, but far better than typically seen.
