An original Uncirculated example of this popular Key Date. Scarce as a CAC example in the grade; only 34 at CAC versus almost 1300 combined PCGS/NGC. The coin displays strong luster without the typical heavy hairlines and signs of mishandling typical of a 62, with light overall reddish toning highlights. One small set of reed marks on George’s temple is all that likely kept this from certifying as an MS-63 in my opinion, so correctly graded.
