Out of a very old set of these coins, I felt that this should have come back a 58. "Mox Nix" as they used to say, as there is little price difference commercially. Very well struck for the date, with a 95% full shield edge and close to Full Head. This also seems fully original, unlike many of the coins shown in online auction archives. VERY TOUGH with a CAC sticker: 113 coins at PCGS in the grade, 43 at NGC (including FH's), but only 11 CAC as of September, 2018. That extends to AU-58 as well, where the numbers are 140, 82, and 21. This may say something about "pushing the grade", but I have also noted a great number of coins in AU-58 holders are NOT original - so maybe CAC has held its nose regarding those coins.
