A nice solid EF/AU specimen of this “common” date - as usual, that comment needs to be understood in the overall context of the series. An original mintage of 110,000, which for most other U. S. coins would result in a key date issue. However, even with an estimated survival in all grades of less than 5,000 coins (most low grade), it is considered common by Seated Dollar standards. By comparison, the “rare” 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent has an Uncirculated population exceeding that number, at PCGS alone.
