A conservative grade, and a coin I think very PQ for “only” MS-62. I submitted an 1862 Half Dime with this which came back the same grade, however that coin shows some more obvious marks. An original survivor of the first Mintage after removal of the Arrows used in 1853 - 1855 to denote a weight standard change. As a result, the removal of the Arrows changed the metal flow on the Obverse when struck, resulting in this date being noted for weak, mushy denticles. This coin does show that but is otherwise a nice problem free coin. Bright full luster with light, original color. Repatriated from Europe where it undoubtedly arrived in commerce prior to the Civil War, and probably never owned by a true collector to this day!
