An always popular date in the series, as the Business Strikes are phenomenally rare in Uncirculated grades, so most collectors wind up purchasing a Proof if they wish a high grade example. Breen-2516, "Dropped 8"; Breen called this "rare" although I think it a bit more common than that (call it "scarce" if nothing else). "Common" in Shield Nickel terms as a date in Proof, however not like this. Rare air with only 16 PCGS/30 NGC in the grade, with only 1 PCGS non-Cameo finer (67+), plus about 30 at each of the services with Cameo contrast equal or finer. Not a lot at CAC either, 10 non-Cam plus 12 Cameo. A very original, non-dipped example that does display a hint of light Cameo contrast. No auctions since 2013 to go by, so priced based upon my own opinion of potential value.
