Medal struck in 1822 to celebrate the crowning of August de Iterbide as first Emperor of Mexico following its independence from the Spanish Empire. Grove 9a, Choice Almost Uncirculated, certified NGC AU-55.  A lovely original piece with considerable remaining luster, a bit of the typical striking weakness at center however amazingly free of distracting marks.  My images do not do it justice.... One in the grade at NGC, with four higher (late 2018).  As for price, the sole PCGS XF-45 example sold for about $400 early in 2018, so I feel that my asking price is reasonable.
