A fully original AU/Unc example of this popular Semi Key date. Very scarce as such, as 95%+ of all EF and AU 1928 Dollars I see have been cleaned or dipped, the result of having been pulled out of circulation between the 1940’s and 1960’s. Being the lowest mintage date in the series, they were of course considered “rare” and so put aside by anyone with a minimum of numismatic knowledge, followed by the inevitable abuse.
