WB-7. An attractive, apparently fully original example of this popular first year Type issue - and rare as such. Most early Seated Halves I see have been obviously cleaned, or “monkeyed with” in some way. My impression based upon other coins reviewed suggest that this would not have a problem at CAC. Oddly enough, for a date considered “common” by Bill Bugert & Randall Wiley, not all that many at PCGS: just 131 coins in AU-53 to MS-65+, to date (Nov. 2021). From a mintage of 1.87 Million, that does not sound like a lot. FYI, this exact coin sold at Baltimore in 2016 (Stack’s -Bowers).
